Troubleshooting

The following are helpful steps to follow in diagnosing a problem. If these steps fail, contact support@tdcollaborative.com or call for help at 1-781-933-6116 [US Eastern Standard Time, -5GMT]

Sensor cable and Coil Continuity

Disconnect the sensor from the circuit card and with an ohm meter measure the resistance between the two conductors. If the resistance is 60-70 ohm at room temperature, the sensor and cable are OK.

Interconnect Continuity Test

Back the Gnd and Sen adjustment screws off 8 turns, then insert the bare wire lead into the first socket, labeled "Gnd" and the black insulated lead into the second socket labeled "Sen". Tighten both adjustment screws until snug. With the circuit turned off, measure the resistance between the first and second adjustment screw heads. The measured value should be 55-65 ohms and equal to the value measured prior to connecting the sensor to the electronics minus about 5 ohms. For example, if 67ohm was measured with the sensor disconnected, the connected resistance should be about 62 ohm.

Circuit Card and Software Operability Test

On the top of the C100 enclosure, about one inch from the left and two inches from the front face is a transparent circular window. With the system running, look directly down into the window. If the software is uncorrupted and the system is operating properly, a rapidly blinking [5/second] orange LED should be visible. With an OEM circuit card such as the B1ac, B112 or B115 the LED is located in the lower left region of the card. If you see a steady orange light the software has been corrupted. If you see no light, there may be no DC power on the board or other problems.

Board Power

The circuit card runs on ±12V and ±5Vdc which are generated on the mother board. If you have a board level system and are familiar with operating a DC multimeter, the board voltages can be verified. Ground reference is the Gnd test lug in the center or the Gnd test point lower left corner. Test point feedthroughs are all located about ½ inch above the line of filter capacitors in the center of the board. Verify each of the four DC voltages at the feed through points indicated. When probing don't short nearby conductors.

Additional Tests

Further diagnostic tests are possible, but involve steps that are best carried out under factory guidance.
