Installation

The TDC sensor can be operated in either a lab or process environment. In the lab the sensor is simply immersed into a sample contained in a sampling tube, beaker, or jar. Process installation involves insertion into a tank or process line. Considerations include achieving good thermal coupling, appropriate flow for sample refresh, and ease of access for installation and maintenance. In some cases it is helpful to provide a sampling port for periodic off line checks. Our sensor is quite flexible with regard to the installation possibilities. Several examples are illustrated below. We will also be glad to work with you regarding your particular needs, simply contact sales@tdcollaborative.

Bypass Piping Installation

Orientation of the sensor is not critical. We provide the adaptor [shown grey] to mate the sensor NPT thread to virtually any piping of one inch or greater size. Line pressures up to 7 bar [100psi] can be easily accommodated with no measurable pressure effect on the sensor.

Tank Installation

A tank installation from the top, with frequent cleanup and extraction will benefit from use of a protective cage on the sensor [see products/accessories]. The cage has an extension shaft for handling and mounting. A typical mount of this sort might be:

Alternatively, the sensor might be mounted permanently through a side wall flange fitting with an appropriate adaptor.
